Next up in our #WhereStoriesComeFrom #OvercomingtheMonster recommended reads we have two great reads for readers aged 12 and up.
The first one is the chilling #TheStuffofNightmares by Malorie Blackman (Penguin Books). Kyle has always been afraid of things, especially dying. But when he gets on the train that is taking him and his class on a school trip, he has no idea how close to Death he is going to come. Death enters the train and Kyle moves with him, past his friends, who are frozen in time, in life-or-death situations.
Secondly we have the gripping #TheCall by Paedar O’Guilin (David Fickling Books). When THE CALL comes, you have to be ready to run or fight to the death. THE CALL will grab you by surprise – you could be studying or hanging out with friends when suddenly you’re pulled into a terrifying land, alone and hunted by the ENEMY. You don’t know them, but they know you and they want to kill you, slowly and painfully.
