Seven Stories Event for Adults interested in Autism Awareness
Published 31.03.2021
An excellent free event TODAY from Seven Stories The National Centre for Children’s Books. Specifically for adults, this event is part of their Autism Awareness Week activities. If you have an interest in Autism Awareness, you will not want to miss this.
Join author Rose Robbins 31 March, 4-5pm, in a free event for adults as she talks about her two books Me and My Sister and Talking is Not My Thing! as part of Autism Awareness Week activities. Both books draw on Rose’s personal experience of growing up as sibling to a non-verbal profoundly autistic brother, as well as being a late diagnosed autistic woman herself. We will discuss how books can be utilised to encourage understanding and positive self-image for autistic children and their siblings.
Talking is Not My Thing has been selected for the 2021 IBBY collection of outstanding books for young people with disabilities. Signed copies of both books are available from our online bookshop.
