Calling all teachers of years 5, 6, 7 and 8. Book now for our upcoming Authors in Schools event with hip hop artist Karl Nova, take a look at the video to see Karl in action.
Hip hop artist, lyricist and poet Karl Nova has been inspiring children to create their own poems and express themselves through verse for years.
His debut book, Rhythm and Poetry, won the prestigious CLiPPA Award in 2018 and he was awarded the Ruth Rendell Award for outstanding services to children’s literature. The first poet to ever receive this award!
On Thursday 13 May, Karl will talk to your students about his new book ‘The curious case of Karl Nova’. Plus he will perform his own, dynamic poetry as well as helping your students to unleash their imaginations and create their own poems.
Karl turns the usual rules of poetry upside down and will light a spark in your students to do the same. He’ll takes your class on a journey of discovery, showing them how to take the raw material of their own lives and experiences and turn them into epic verses.
This is part of our Authors in Schools digital programme, delivered via Zoom and for UK schools.
