A little exercise to make you happy
Published 26.06.2020
This is a really lovely idea from our friends at Seven Stories The National Centre for Children’s Books! Something home schoolers might want to keep for a rainy afternoon, or just something for the whole family to enjoy, whatever their age!
What makes you feel better when you’re sad? It’s important to look after yourself every day, but it is especially important to be kind to yourself when you feel down. Use this colouring sheet, specially designed for us by illustrator and author Jane Ray, to think of things you can do to feel good about yourself!
First, make a list of 8 things that make you feel better. There are some suggestions below, but you will have some ideas of your own.
1) My favourite food…
2) My favourite colour
3) The people I love…
4) Something that I’m proud of…
5) My friends…
6) Something I’m looking forward to…
7) A good thing that happened to me…
8) My favourite possessions…
Now colour in the sunshine colouring sheet, using a light colour for the 8 sun’s rays so that you can write your 8 things and they show up. You’ll have to write quite small! You can cut out your sunshine and put it up where everyone can see it! Whenever you look at your sunshine it will remind you of all the things that make you feel better.
